Short-Term and Long-Term Travel Accommodation

As a traveller, especially when you are planning to be on the road for long periods of time, there are certain things that you must consider before embarking on that holiday.

The first, and likely most important, thing that many prospective travellers will need to plan is their accommodation. There are many things that will sway a decision, but the main points to consider are price, comfort, location, and length of stay. All of these factors will largely depend on the individual, but there are a number of things which can help in the decision making process.

Life on a Budget

This can be a difficult trade off to make for some, but if you are travelling on a budget and plan to be away from home for a long time, the most affordable solution is to stay in budget accommodation, or a youth hostel. While these are not luxury establishments, nor are they intended to be, they are affordable and usually have a very social atmosphere, which can appeal to young people. There is a spectrum with hostels and many are quite nice, but if the hostel life is simply not one you are willing to consider, the next choice is a bed and breakfast.

A Bit of Charm

These establishments are usually quite small, privately owned and run, and often include breakfast. Because bed and breakfasts are usually owned and run by individuals, they are much more charming, clean, and ultimately more cosy than budget accommodation. Though they are typically more expensive than the budget options and are difficult for long-term stays due to the limited number of rooms, for many, the quaint atmosphere and quieter, calmer guests make the added expense worthwhile.

And Room Service, Too

The third option is the hotel, and, of course, there is a wide range of hotels to choose from. While they tend to be more expensive than hostels and bed and breakfasts, hotels can offer similar prices, but you will not be afforded with the same quality. On the other hand, you may choose to pay the hefty fee that comes along with the luxury hotel experience, and while this type of accommodation is not ideal for long-term stay due to the cost associated with it, it is an experience many enjoy. Whichever you choose, the hotel life generally comes with more perks than both the bed and breakfast and the hostel would offer.

The Luxury Life

The final option, and the most expensive, is the serviced apartment, which are fully furnished and intended for short-term or long-term stays. While the cost associated with this type of accommodation is much higher than the alternatives, it offers the highest amount of comfort and privacy, and ultimately, if you are looking for the peace, comfort and solitude that your own home would allow you, the serviced apartment, like those leased at Executive Living, is the way to go.

Regardless of which option you decide is best suited to you, understand that there are pros and cons to each. Going into this decision with an understanding of the benefits and drawbacks will help you to make the right decision for you.
